A dream come true. What started as an experiment to see if agriculture could be restored, promoted and conserved on Washington Island, Wisconsin, has blossomed into a full-fledged business with the construction of the Company's new state-of-the art distillery in Middleton, Wisconsin. Completed on June 4th, 2012 grand opening, the facility is the largest craft distillery in Wisconsin and one of the largest in the region with an annual capacity in excess of 250,000 cases of finished product. Our intent is to produce enough product to meet our current and future demands while insuring that our products continue to have the same superior quality and consistency.
Death's Door Vodka is a bright and flavorful spirit that includes the same hard red winter wheat, corn and malted barley as the Gin. Why three grains? Each grain has a unique character that comes to play in Death's Door Vodka- wheat brings sweetness while malted barley provides smooth and creamy mouthfeel. Corn is then utilized as the canvas where these flavors play out, for it provides a neutral base that allows the character and complexities of the other two grains to be realized while still meeting the expectations of the vodka drinker. Death’s Door Vodka is double-distilled and hand cut resulting in a spirit that's smooth and rich with subtle notes of vanilla. There are no chemical compounds added such as glycerin or citric acid. The goals are to be the best in taste, flavor and mouthfeel.
