Heritage Distilling Company, Inc. ® (HDC) is among the top premier craft distilleries in the
United States, making a variety of whiskeys, vodkas, gins and rums from as many local
ingredients as possible. HDC is one of the largest craft distilleries on the West Coast
and is the largest independently owned craft distillery in Washington.
HDC is a majority women-owned enterprise and currently operates in Washington
State, where more than 110 distilleries reside – the third most of any state in the nation
– and Oregon. HDC owns two production distilleries in Gig Harbor, WA, with tastings,
tours and retail sales at both locations. HDC’s second full-scale production distillery
opened in Eugene, Oregon in October 2016 and immediately became one of the largest
craft distilleries in Oregon upon its opening. HDC Roslyn, a 10,000 sq. ft production and
tasting facility opened in November 2017. HDC Ballard and HDC Capitol Hill, both
located in Seattle, opened in the summer of 2018 and have become popular
destinations in both neighborhoods.
HDC is the most awarded craft distillery in North America by the American Distilling
Institute for the past six years out of more than 1,500 craft distilleries. HDC’s line of
spirits include the Elk Rider ® series, the HDC series - featuring more than 15 naturally
flavored vodkas - the BATCH NO. 12 ® line of spirits and HDC’s most popular product,
BSB ® - Brown Sugar Bourbon. BSB, along with its higher proof cousin, BSB -
103 ® (bottled at 103 proof), is the fastest growing craft spirits brand in the region and
was named “Best Flavoured Whisky in the World” by Whiskey Magazine two years in a
row (2018 & 2019). HDC’s products can be found in bars, restaurants and retailers in all
50 states and selectively in Canada.
Heritage Distilling Co. is a partner and/or official sponsor of the Seattle Mariners, Seattle
Seahawks, Seattle Sounders, San Francisco Giants, Texas Rangers, Atlanta Braves,
Evergreen Speedway, Portland Trail Blazers and Eugene Emeralds. HDC is both an
active and proud member of the Pacific Northwest community. Through collaborations
and partnerships, HDC frequently raises money for various charities and non-profit
groups across. In 2015, the company’s philanthropic efforts were rewarded with the
Secretary of State’s “Corporations for Community” award for the state of Washington,
and shortly thereafter followed by the “Manufacturer of the Year” Award from the
Association of Washington Businesses in 2017.
In 2011, after a few glasses of whiskey and a cigar around the campfire, the idea for Heritage Distilling Co. (HDC) was created. “We can make something better than this, and we can do it in a way no one has ever done it before.” The next day Jennifer and Justin Stiefel, HDC’s Co-Founders and current President and CEO, began writing their business plan.
Today, Heritage Distilling Co. is among the top premier craft distilleries in the United States, making a variety of whiskeys, vodkas, gins, aquavit and rums from as many local ingredients as possible. HDC is one of the largest craft distilleries on the West Coast and is the largest independently owned craft distillery in Washington. HDC is a majority women-owned enterprise and is proudly named the most awarded craft distillery in North America by the American Distilling Institute for the past eight years out of more than 1,500 craft distilleries.
Some of the best-known facets of the company include HDC’s innovative programs like Spirits Club® and its patented program Cask Club®. Cask Club is an annual membership-based program that provides the creativity of each member to be transformed into bottled spirits. Members are given the ability to choose everything from spirit, flavor additions, age and proof, while finishing the process with their very own, one of a kind product.
HDC operates distillery tasting rooms in Washington and Oregon including locations in Gig Harbor (WA), Eugene (OR), the Ballard neighborhood in Seattle, in the historic town of Roslyn (WA) and in partnership with South Puget Sound Community College at the Tumwater Craft District in Tumwater, WA. Heritage Distilling at Talking Cedar opened in June 2020.
